The ELITE Training Center will provide job training and business development programs for Gainesville Housing Authority residents, as well as the broader Gainesville community. The job training center will operate in partnership with area businesses to provide individuals with the skills necessary to obtain employment, advance their careers, and boost earning potential. The ELITE Training Center will provide skills to help make residents employable and set them on the path to self-sufficiency. This is where lives will be changed by innovative programs, and improving
individual’s economic well-being
ELITE is an acronym for Empowerment, Life skills, Innovation, Training, and Entrepreneurship which play key roles in career development.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY
The GHA Entrepreneurship Academy provides a comprehensive collaborative entrepreneurial experience including an 8-week course from Santa Fe College CIED and follow up support, integration into UF Small Business Relations programming and support from, and access to,UNF North Florida SBDC.
Each course session within the SF College CIED instructional component answers every critical question any entrepreneur must ask

TURNKEY FACILITIES MAINTENANCE CERTIFICATION
Students who successfully complete the career training course receive both a Certificate of Completion from Santa Fe College and OSHA 10 Certification, making them a more valuable employee to local companies. From there, students can enter the workforce, making as much as $15 per hour and/or choose to continue at SF, which has apprenticeship programs in building maintenance repair, plumbing, electrical construction, HVAC and carpentry

OSHA-10 CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION
This comprehensive OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Course provides workers with essential knowledge to recognize and prevent workplace hazards on construction sites. Through interactive discussions and real-world scenarios, participants will gain a foundational understanding of safety regulations, their rights, and responsibilities, empowering them to foster a safer work environment. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an OSHA 10-Construction card

CAMT CERTIFICATION
This program is designed both as an introduction for new maintenance professionals and as a refresher for the veteran employee, to give these professionals the knowledge and tools necessary to run an effective maintenance program. The CAMT program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), a private non-profit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system
E.L.I.T.E. Plaza
E.L.I.T.E. Plaza is an upcoming community hub designed to support residents, local services, and economic opportunity. More details will be shared as development progresses
