The Client Services Department
serves as a central connection point between residents, program participants, and community resources. Our role goes beyond program administration—we work alongside individuals and families to help support economic stability, personal well-being, and long term self-sufficiency.
Through partnerships with local service providers, workforce organizations, and community agencies, our team connects residents to resources that support employment readiness, financial wellness, and mental health.

Client Services
Jobs Plus grant
The Jobs Plus grant is a community-based employment and self-sufficiency initiative serving residents of designated Gainesville Housing Authority developments (AMP 3). The program is designed to help residents increase earned income, strengthen financial stability, and access opportunities that support long-term economic success.
By bringing employment, financial, and supportive services directly into the AMP 3 community, Jobs Plus reduces barriers to work and helps residents connect to meaningful career pathways. Participation is voluntary and open to eligible residents living within the AMP 3 developments.
Jobs Plus Grant is focused on:
Increasing employment and earned income for residents
Supporting job retention and career advancement
Promoting financial empowerment and economic mobility
Strengthening community engagement and peer support

Gainesville Youth Academy
The Gainesville Youth Academy provides programming for our youth (ages 6-18) with support from our robust partner network throughout the calendar year. Our goal is to empower and equip individual success through five critical pillars: Leadership, Self Development, Health & Wellness, Career Exploration & Preparation, and Community Support & Engagement.

Client Services Program 1
Amplifying Reading Talent & Skill (ARTS) takes place during the school year for grades K-5. Students have the opportunity to enhance their literacy skills and partake in visual & performing art and STEAM related activities providing experiential learning.

The Gainesville Youth Academy Summer Program provides an opportunity for youth, ages 6-18, to learn new skills and develop existing skills while earning a stipend and/or rewards upon program completion.

How to Get Involved
Client Services Programs:

Internship Program:
GHA collaborates with the University of Florida’s Family, Youth and Community Sciences department, institutions, and local nonprofits to strengthen capacity, provide work experience to promising youth, and potential employment opportunities to the students while supporting GHA clients to achieve economic mobility and independence.

Community Service:
GHA provides community service coordination for clients on the housing programs. Clients have an opportunity to successfully complete their community service through our partner network and/or the housing authority’s Client Services Department.

Resident Engagement & Incentives:
GHA Store: An incentive-based program rewarding PH residents with “GHA Bucks” redeemable for household items and essential goods—encouraging progress toward self-sufficiency.
